SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
FORESEEN USE
Turning eyebolt needed to lift loads to assemble the load itself with specific threaded hole generally used to turn or tilt heavy loads
NOT SUITABLE FOR LIFTING PEOPLE
CE Conformity Declaration
(Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC all. IIA)
We declare that all materials specified in the present declaration are in compliance with all the dispositions related to the Directive 2006/42/EC
CHECK SUITABILITY OF ROTATING EYEBOLTS ART.800 BEFORE USE AND YEARLY
Before each use make sure that:
- The eyebolt does not have defects due to wear, corrosion, cracks or visible deformations
- Marking have to be clearly legible
- The loads to be lifted are in compliance with the loads of the eyebolts (the loads are specified both on the eyebolts and on the user manual)
- The diameter of the welded ring has not been reduced more than the 10% of the nominal diameter of the ring itself due to wear in one of the points of contact with the bulb
- The play “s” between the bulb and the lower part is less than the values indicated in the chart
- The eyebolt is screwed tightly into the supporting structure and the eyebolt’s bulb rotates freely.
If these checks give a negative outcome, the eyebolt must not be used any more, and must be replaced.
Please remember that:
- Checks have to be carried out by a qualified staff as the rotating eyebolts series 800 must undergo checks at regular intervals and scheduled in compliance with the laws in force
- The rotating eyebolt with ring must be fitted by a qualified staff of age as it is used for lifting operations which must be carried out in compliance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE and subsequent modifications
- The qualified person must supervise the lifting operation and must always detect the gravity center of the load and position the eyebolts in order to guarantee that the said load is always balanced
- If the load is asymmetrical take into consideration a decrease of the capacity as shown on the reference chart
- Check suitability of the resistance class of the mother screw which has to house the eyebolt with the ration of the load to be lifted (the material of the mother screw has to have traction resistance which is the same or higher than steel S235JR – norm of reference UNI EN 10025)
- The depth of the threaded hole has to be minimum
1*d for steel
1.25*d for cast iron
1.5*d for cast iron castings with low resistance (resistance <200 MPa)
2*d for aluminum alloys
2.5*d for aluminum – magnesium alloys - The threaded hole must be perpendicular to the surface
- Make sure that the surface of the mother screw is suitable for the planarity and dimension in order to guarantee touching of all the surface place of the eyebolt and that it adheres suitably. The eyebolt cannot be used with parts of the tilting surface
- To install the eyebolt simply manually lock the screws with the key without the aid of extension leads which could preload the screw with excessive locking (do not exceed locking specified in the chart. To disassemble, unscrew
- Once locking has been carried out make sure that the bulb rotates freely and correctly
REASONS FOR CAPACITY REDUCTION:
Environmental temperature affects lifting capacity:
- <Temperature lower than -40oC, not suitable for use.
- Temperatures between -40oC and 200oC, suitable for use.
- Temperatures between 200oC and 300oC, suitable for use with a 10% reduction in lifting capability.
- Temperatures between 300oC and 400oC, suitable for use with a 25% reduction in lifting capability.
- >Temperatures higher than 400oC, not suitable for use.
FURTHER SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Safety coefficient 4
- On the axial pull there can be variation of +/5o with a 10% decrease in capacity
- The eyebolt can be used safely up to maximum of 20.000 lifts with a full load
- For risky lifting operations safety measures have to be taken for the people who undergo the risk
- If the instructions are not adhered to serious damage can be caused to things and injuries to people
- The documentation has been drawn up in compliance with section 1.7.4.2. of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
NOT ALLOWED
- Not suitable for continuous rotation movement during loading
- Do not use eyebolts in acid high corrosion chemical substance environment and/or in an explosive atmosphere
- Do not use in environments with a temperature higher than 400oC or lower than -40oC
- Do not exceed the capacity specified on the reference chart
- Do not used for operations which defer from the ones that are foreseen
- Do not use locking screws which are larger than the ones specified to assemble the eyebolt
- Do not use to life people
- Do not stand under an overhanging load whilst it is being used
- Do not stand during use in dangerous areas (dangerous areas means areas which are deemed risky due to falling of load during movement with accessories)
- If changes, repairs and/or treatments are made to the product, the terms of the guarantee are no longer applicable and the manufacturer declines all liability.
STORAGE & DISPOSAL
- The device must be stored in a suitable environment (e.g. dry, non-corrosive, etc.)
- The product packaging must be sent for normal recycling
- The product must be recovered as metal scrap
