Hook Weld-On Type – Grade 80 – Cartec
Hook Weld-On Type – Grade 80 – Cartec
Hook Weld-On Type, suitable for lifting and towing applications in heavy industrial environments. Made of high-strength steel, it is welded directly to the metal structure and provides a secure anchorage point for hooks, chains, or personal protective equipment. Complies with the requirements of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
The Weld-On Point with the product code C804 is Grade 80
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
FORESEEN USE
Hook weld-on type for lifting loads
NOT SUITABLE FOR LIFTING PEOPLE
CE Conformity Declaration
(Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC all. IIΒ)
We declare that all the materials specified in the present declaration are in compliance with all the provisions related to Directive 2006/42/EC.
CHECK SUITABILITY OF ROTATING EYEBOLTS ART.800 BEFORE USE AND YEARLY
Before each use make sure that:
- The hook shows no defects due to wear, corrosion, cracks, or visible deformations.
- Markings are clearly legible.
- During hook/release of the loads the latch is always functional and does not remain locked in incorrect positions.
- The loads to be lifted are in compliance with the rated capacities of the eyebolt (the working load limits are specified on the eyebolt and in the user manual).
- The diameter of the welded ring has not been reduced by more than 10% of the nominal diameter due to wear at any contact point.
- Τhe hook has not suffered a deformation that has caused the latch to shift alignment with the hook itself and in any case has not undergone an opening of the hook’s throat exceeding 10%
If these checks give a negative outcome, the eyebolt must not be used any more, and must be replaced.
Please remember:
- Inspections must be carried out by qualified personnel.
- Checks have to be carried out by a qualified staff as the rotating eyebolts series 800 must undergo checks at regular intervals and scheduled in compliance with the laws in force
THE WELD
- The hook to be welded must be fitted by a qualified person as it is used for lifting operations which must be conducted in compliance with machinery directive 2006/42/EC and subsequent modifications
- The qualified person supervising the lifting operations must always identify the load’s centre of gravity and position the lifting clamp in such a way as to guarantee that the load is always balanced
- If the load is asymmetrical take into consideration a decrease of the capacity as shown on the reference chart
- Welding must be done by a qualified person in accordance with standard EN ISO 9606
- The hook is made of tempered steel SAE8620H-20CrNiMo
- The material used for welding must be suitable and must be capable of withstanding the reference loads
- The hook may be used safely for up to 20,000 full-load lifting cycles.
- The minimum thickness of the welding bead is specified in the reference table
- The welding bead must be of the HV type and must have a continuous angle. This weld complies with the DIN 18800 standard
- Create at least two overlapping weld beads to guarantee proper penetration
- To weld the hook the preheating temperature should be between 130°C and 170°C .
- Position the hook in a manner that is appropriate for the load to be lifted and in such a way as to avoid unauthorised stresses such as twisting or tipping the load. The hook must always be positioned in the pull direction according to the indicated scheme.
CAPACITY REDUCTION FACTORS
Ambient Temperature Load Limit Reduction

THE SUPPORTING WALL
- Ensure that it is suitable for welding (ordinary steal with max carbon content of 0.40%); for safety’s sake, request approval from the manufacturer
- Ensure that there are no surface defects, cracks or roughness
- Ensure that it is suitably flat in order to guarantee a good foundation for the surface of the base to be welded
- Ensure that it is large enough to prevent deformations or stress ruptures
For risky lifting operations safety measures have to be taken for the people who undergo the risk
If the instructions are not adhered to serious damage can be caused to things and injuries to people
This documentation has been prepared in compliance with section 1.7.4.2 of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
NOT ALLOWED:
- Do not use for any purpose other than that intended
- Do not use eyebolts in acid high corrosion chemical substance environment and/or in an explosive atmosphere
- Do not use in environments with temperatures above +350°C or below -20°C
- Do not exceed the capacity specified on the reference chart
- Do not used for operations which defer from the ones that are foreseen
- Do not use to life people
- Do not stand under an overhanging load whilst it is being used
- Do not stand during use in dangerous areas (dangerous areas means areas which are deemed risky due to falling of load during movement with accessories)
- If changes, repairs and/or treatments are made to the product, the terms of the guarantee are no longer applicable and the manufacturer declines all liability.
STORAGE:
The device must be stored in a suitable environment (e.g. dry, non-corrosive, etc.)
DISPOSAL:
The product packaging must be sent for normal recycling
The product must be recovered as metal scrap
