Before use check that:

The hook does not have any defects due to wear and tear, or any corrosion, cracks or visible deformations

The markings are clearly legible

The loads to be lifted comply with the working load limits for which the hooks were designed (the working load limits are indicated in the product details and in the instructions for use)

If used as a component of the chain sling, check that it has been correctly assembled with chains/accessories that are compatible in terms of dimensions and working load limits

The hooks’ safety latch that prevents accidental unhooking of the loads is not deformed and is always fully functional and correctly assembled

The hook has not suffered any reductions/deformations that exceed the nominal dimension values indicated below; also that the hook has not suffered any deformation that has made the safety latch detach or come loose from the hook

If checks do reveal damage, the hook must not be used and must be replaced.

Please remember that:

Checks must be conducted by qualified adult personnel

Due to being lifting accessories, the hooks must undergo regular scheduled inspections which must be recorded in a special inspections logbook, in compliance with current laws and regulations, at least yearly. For particularly heavy work we suggest the following regular intervals:

• · Six Monthly: if accessories are used rarely;
• · Quarterly: If accessories are used normally;
• · Monthly: If accessories are used intensely;

INSTRUCTIONS

The hook must be installed by qualified adult personnel due to being used in lifting operations that must be performed in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, as amended

The qualified person supervising the lifting operation must always identify the centre of gravity of the load and position the hooks so as to ensure that the load is always balanced

The load to be lifted must be positioned in the middle of the hook and never balanced on the tip

If used as a lifting sling component, the swivel must be assembled with a gr80 connecting link of the same size as the hook chain (the diameter of the chain is indicated on the hook and on the swivel).

If used as a lifting accessory, insert in the swivel a coupling point that has a diameter bigger than the diameter of the swivel, with mechanical characteristics of grade 80 or higher

The hook must be used at a temperature between -40^°C and + 100^°C inclusive

Safety coefficient 5

The hook can be used in complete safety up to a maximum of 20,000 full load lifts

For risky lifting operations, safety measures have to be taken for those people who are at risk

Failure to adhere to the instructions can result in serious damage to property and injury to people.

The documentation has been drawn up in compliance with section 1.7.4.2 of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Do not use the hooks in acid environments or where there are highly corrosive chemical substances present, and/or in explosive environments

Do not use in environments with a temperature higher than 100°C or lower than -40°C

Do not exceed the capacity specified on the reference chart

Do not use for operations other than those foreseen

DO NOT USE TO LIFT PEOPLE

Do not stand under an overhanging load whilst it is being used

Do not stand during use in dangerous areas (dangerous areas mean areas which are deemed risky due to falling of load during movement with accessories)

Should parts of the hook need to be replaced, use only the original spares kits supplied by the manufacturer

If changes, repairs and/or treatments are made to the product, the terms of the guarantee are no longer applicable and the manufacturer/supplier declines all liability.

STORAGE

The hook must be stored in an appropriate environment (dry, non-corrosive etc.)

DISPOSAL

The product packaging must be disposed of through the normal waste sorting process. The product must be recovered as scrap metal.
