Instructions for safe use of chain accessories:

Check correct assembly with chains/accessories in compliance to the dimensions and capacity.

Before using each time, make sure that the lifting accessory does not have defects due to wear, corrosion, cracks or visible deformations, the marking are clearly legible, all components are assembled and installed properly.

In regards to lifting accessories, the devices for slings have to undergo inspections at regular intervals and recorded in a specific logbook at yearly intervals at least. For particularly heavy work we suggest the following regular intervals:

• Six Monthly: if accessories are used rarely;
• Quarterly: If accessories are used normally;
• Monthly: If accessories are used intensely;

Staff must check that:

• The markings are clearly legible;
• The lifting accessory has not suffered wear higher than 10% compared with the initial measurement at the point of contact between the chain hook/connection mesh.
• The hook has not undergone a permanent deformation or change in shape causing the safety latch of the hook slipping away from its location.

lf only one of the aforementioned checks does not comply with the parameters shown, the sling is to be considered not suitable and safe for lifting; therefore, it must be disposed of and no longer used.

In case of strong magnetic fields, before each use, carefully check: that the lifting accessory components are assembled correctly and that they have not suffered deformations that would affect their operation and safety; otherwise, the accessory must be replaced.

After assembly, make sure that:

• The load pin inserted in the hook clevis is locked with the spring pin.
• The load pin inserted in the coupling links are secured properly by the split ring retainer pin.

The load has to be placed at the center of the hook during the lifting operations.

The accessory can be used safely up to a maximum of 20.000 cycles at or below WLL.

The accessories must be stored in a suitable place. The storage environment must be dry without any acidic/corrosive/explosive materials.

The lifting capabilities of the accessories depend on the temperature of the environment:

• Temperature lower than -40^oC, not suitable for use.
• Temperatures between -40^oC and 200^oC, suitable for use.
• Temperatures between 200^oC and 300^oC, suitable for use with a 10% reduction in lifting capability.
• Temperatures between 300^oC and 400^oC, suitable for use with a 25% reduction in lifting capability.
• Temperatures higher than 400^oC, not suitable for use.

The load must to be lifted must not be placed on the edge of the hook.

Do not exceed operating loads referred to on the reference chart.

Do not use the accessory for operations which defer from the ones that are foreseen.

NOT SUITABLE TO LIFT PEOPLE.

If the instructions are not adhered to there is a risk for damage to materials or injuries to people.

If changes, repairs and/or treatments are made to the product, the terms of the guarantee are no longer applicable and the manufacturer/supplier declines all liability.

Use of lifting accessories in absences of a latch to prevent sudden and involuntary loss of the load is forbidden.
